Activity-Based Team Building Programs

Atlanta Challenge helps your team learn and internalize the essential skills they need to work together by providing fun and non-threatening hands-on team development programs. These events put participants into situations in which they need to overcome challenges by communicating, working together, utilizing creative problem-solving skills, and relying on their team mates. Please contact us for more details and rates for any of these programs.

Challenge for a Child

This is a team building event AND service project combined into one exciting program. Participants overcome a series of challenges in order to retrieve the parts for a child's bicycle which they assemble and then donate to a local charity. The challenges are a combination of proven, high-energy, problem-solving initiatives and mental challenges that will help your team identify the behaviors of optimum teamwork. Donating a completed bicycle is a great metaphor for the importance of staying focused on the big picture.

Driven to Serve

This is a great team building - service project for indoor spaces. Teams are provided with materials for constructing a small self-propelled car, but they have a strict budget and timeline to stay within, plus other criteria to meet in order to satisfy customer demands. How well each team does determines their budget for "purchasing" Lego sets, which they will place into gift bags that will be donated to a child in need.

Solo Team Building Sessions

Sometimes there just isn't enough time for a full team building session.

That's why Atlanta Challenge created Solo sessions. If you have 30 to 90 minutes to fill, and want to make a strong point, or just let your group unwind during a big meeting, we can deliver a quick and to-the-point individual activity for a break-out session or meeting energizer that will get everyone involved, thinking and having fun.

Grin and Bear It

In this team building service project, teams complete an assortment of fun and thought provoking challenges to earn teddy bears, and additional challenges to "purchase" clothing and accessories for their bears. Teams load their bears into gift bags which are then donated to children in need.

Multi-Task Challenge

Teams attempt to accumulate as many points as they can in this fast-paced team strategy event. Several challenges with varying point values are arranged throughout the site for teams to overcome at their own pace. Although presented as a competition, the goal is for each team to earn as many points as they can, so cross-team collaboration is always possible.

On the Right Track

Teams build a play table and train set that will be donated to a local children's charity. Teams will need to organize the different functions of engineering, inventory, and assembly, while dealing with different staff changes, time restrictions and a work environment full of silos.

Ropes Course

The Ropes Course takes your team to new heights. With the physical support and cheering of their team mates, participants work though a series of climbing and balancing activities 30-50 feet off the ground. Each person selects their personal level of challenge and then experiences the thrill of reaching beyond perceived limits while achieving their personal goal. Team DaVinci

Teams take on the role of designers and engineers who are responsible for procuring a sizeable grant. They need to create a scale model of their idea that meets the donor's criteria. To give it a more "real-world" feel, teams have a deadline, budget, design parameters, specific roles on their team and various changes to contend with while they pursue their objective. Team members must communicate well to adapt to the changes while meeting their deadline. These challenges can be done as fun team races, or as more in-depth team projects that focus on group problem-solving and collaboration skills. Here are some of the themes available, or we can mix and match activities.

  • Bridging the Gap Teams work in two groups to connect a bridge, but they are on opposite sides of a screen. They must communicate in order to get their bridges to meet perfectly in the middle. This theme can also be done outdoors.

  • Catapult to Success Propel your team to new heights as they design and construct a catapult that will meet challenging customer specifications. This theme can also be done outdoors.

  • Driven to Succeed Teams are provided with materials for constructing a small self-propelled car, but they have a strict budget and timeline to stay within, plus other criteria to meet in order to satisfy customer demands.

  • Mini Golf Makers Teams are given a wide assortment of materials to design and build their own miniature golf hole. Teams then take turns playing the other teams' holes and rate them for creativity, playability and quality. This theme can also be done outdoors.

  • Play the Game Teams take on the role of board game designers and must design, construct and promote an actual, playable board game. Games can be built around specific topics or organization information!

  • Towering Achievement This Team Contraptions event gets participants raising their performance - literally. Team members work together to design and construct the tallest tower they can with the materials available. This theme can also be done outdoors.

Team Go-Kart

Teams create the fastest, most original go-kart they can out of a selection of materials that offer a wide range of possibilities. Their problem solving and creativity skills are proven as participants actually race their vehicles, powered by fellow team mates, through a unique course.

Team Rescue

This adventure illustrates the importance of good planning, communication, and utilization of resources in order to achieve team success. Your team heads into the jungle on an important rescue mission. Each member of the team is taught a different skill, and then must come together to accomplish their mission. Team members use a map, compass and GPS to find several sites that contain valuable items that need to be retrieved. When they arrive at each location, they will find unique challenges they must engineer a solution to, using only the resources that they have decided to bring with them. This is a great program for groups that want to emphasize the importance of appreciating everyone's unique skills.

Teamwork Hunts

Teams put on their thinking caps and their walking shoes in order to outsmart their competition in these fun and fast-paced programs. Your team will solve puzzles, take pictures of themselves doing outrageous things, decipher codes, find secret locations and face off against other teams in mini challenges, while they work cohesively as a team in a high-energy, fun way. Please click here for more information about all our hunt programs.

Teamwork Quest

The Teamwork Quest is a great way to boost team morale, build group confidence and have a lot of fun. The focus is on the team supporting each other and making group decisions as they tackle a series of hands-on challenges. Mutual support, sharing control and coaching for shared success are necessary to accomplish the tasks. This is the perfect program for teams that want the challenge of a ropes course without the physical demand. This program be done outdoors or indoors.
